Leonid N. Solomin was born in Sverdlovsk, 1963.
1986: graduated with honors from Blagoveshchensk State Medical University;
1986-1991: post-graduate education, specialization in traumatology and orthopaedics;
1991-1993: the assistant of Chair of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Blagoveshchensk State Medical University;
1992: PhD thesis;
1993-1995: External Fixation Laboratory Researcher at Irkutsk Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics;
1995-1998: Head of Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics at Irkutsk Region Hospital;
1996: Doctor of Science;
1998-2000: Head of Department of External Fixation at Irkutsk Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics;
2008: Full professor of orthopedic surgery.
From 2000 till now: employee of The Vreden Russian Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (Saint-Petersburg, Russia).
From 2013 till now: Professor of the General Surgery Chair in Saint-Petersburg State University.
Author of over 450 scientific papers, including 54 patents, 34 chapters in different monographs, 5 monographs. Two monographs are translated into English and Chinese. The main field of work is devoted to development, perfection, substantiation and clinical application of external fixation, hybrid external fixation and combined osteosynthesis in fractures, non-unions, deformations, defects of long bones; foot deformities and large joints pathology.
Member of ASAMI International, ASAMI Russia, AO/ASIF and SICOT.
